Tankwood
or: Nature and technology in perfect harmony
Speaker developers around the world have been searching for the perfect cabinet material for decades. We’ve found it! The cabinets of all of our models are made from tankwood – a high-density natural wood. This special material, which is compressed under extreme pressure with phenolic resin, uniquely combines the properties of natural wood layers with the precision and long-term stability of a synthetic material. Compressing the individual layers changes the properties of the wood: the fibres are rearranged at a molecular level, density is increased and homogeneity is improved, while maintaining ideal internal damping. The reward for all of this effort? Natural tones and a realistic sound experience without bloated bass or sound-impairing resonance.
The path to acoustic perfection in the listening room
Our specially developed stainless steel speaker feet consist of two parts. The speaker base is milled from a solid block of aluminium using the latest CNC equipment. This results in tight bass reproduction and perfect impulse response, even in unfavourable conditions.
For us, it goes without saying that the speaker has a stable position on the floor: only then can clean, resonance-free bass reproduction be ensured. By choosing tankwood as the main material, our speaker cabinets have unprecedented rigidity and natural internal damping.
But that’s not all. We want to achieve the same level of perfection when it comes to setting up and decoupling loudspeakers, regardless of the resonance properties of the base they are standing on.
- Our loudspeakers are perfectly balanced on three feet in order to ensure stability and even pressure on all of the feet
- Additional feet that are not in contact with the floor create a harmonious look and prevent the speaker from toppling over
- We use ceramic balls to achieve maximum contact pressure on a minimal surface area.
- Silver/gold/oil capacitors (SESGO) from Mundorf, other parts in the crossovers are from Jantzen
- We test all of the parts for minimal tolerances and long-term stability
- Internal wiring with cables from Van den Hul with a high silver content

To achieve this goal, every single cabinet part and all of the individual parts are measured and selected with computer-aided testing methods. Flawless components with minimum deviations between them ensure that our loudspeakers replicate a concert experience as closely as possible.
Crossovers always play an important role in the overall speaker system, as they must ensure perfect homogeneity between the chassis. When developing all of the filters, we rely on both extensive listening sessions and state-of-the-art measuring technology. We also only use the very best components for our crossovers.
By using silver wherever possible, we can benefit from the advantages offered by its unparalleled conductivity. We believe that this audibly improves the impulse response, dynamics and timing of a loudspeaker. The high-quality components ensure that our crossovers have long-term stability and our loudspeakers sound exactly the way you expect them to, even after decades.
